I found Yuki's Instagram account by chance and contact him to guide me in Yakushima. He responded very promptly and recommended two amazing hikes that I'm very grateful for. He took care of me during the hikes, ensuring my safety, and even "rescued" my broken boot! He was also very encouraging the whole way when I was clearly struggling after ascending Tachudake. I did hike Mount Tachu with Yuki and I must say I was amazed by the beauty of the forest and blown away by the summit view! Yuki picked me up at my guest house and we saw deer and monkeys on the way up to the trail entrance. The hike was intense and fun, incredible trees on every corner. I cannot recommend Yuki enough for anyone looking to experience the ancient wonders of Yakushima. From the moment we set off, his professionalism and deep expertise were evident, ensuring that I felt prepared and motivated throughout the entire trek to Jomon Sugi.
